Job Summary
New Forest District Council directly manages over 5000 Council homes and provides both planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance and repairs service to our tenants’ through a large team of highly skilled trades people.
The Housing Maintenance Service delivers repairs and cyclical maintenance activities through our ICT scheduling and appointment system and an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated administrator to join our fast paced and customer focused operational workforce Planning team.
As an integral part of the smooth running of the Housing Maintenance service, we are looking for an individual who has experience and confidence in working in a busy and high pressurised environment. You will possess very good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise different work activities to meet changing deadlines.
Working within a friendly and professional team you will be responsible for the day to day scheduling of appointments and allocation of work to trades people through our Dynamic Scheduling software (DRS previously known as Opti-time). The Operations Planner will ensure all work is delivered on time and resources are utilised to optimum efficiency.
Great ICT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems is essential together with strong communication and customer service skills in order to effectively liaise and coordinate activity between our trades teams and Council tenants’ on a daily basis.

Although no formal qualification is required the successful candidate must have strong organisational and administrative skills and at least 2 years’ experience of working in a similar environment such as building maintenance, facilities management or housing. Proven experience of using IT and/or automated work systems is essential.
