Our Housing service has undergone positive change as we work to achieve build on a new strategic vision. We are seeking to recruit dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our relaunched Tenancy Account Team; responsible for the collection of rent from our 5,000 tenants.
Tenancy Sustainment is at the forefront of our initiatives to prevent homelessness. We are very keen to resolve rent payment issues, benefit claims and debt issues in co-operation with our tenants and other support agencies. We have our own Tenancy Support Worker to provide dedicated intensive support where required.
We very much see enforcement as a last resort so we are looking for candidates who can show excellent problem-solving skills. However, should efforts fail to positively engage tenants in the recovery of rent arrears the post holder will inevitably have to continue to recover the rent by taking action under the appropriate legislation.
We are seeking someone who is flexible, a positive and confident communicator and enjoys working with people. You should also possess excellent organisational and ICT skills.
You should hold a full driving licence and have use of a car as the post requires visits to tenants and attendance at weekly drop-in sessions.
The post holder would ideally have a minimum of two years relevant experience of working with people and resolving problems, plus have sound knowledge of the welfare benefit system, including Universal Credit. However, if you are a quick learner and can demonstrate a willingness to learn and pick up new information quickly in the application process, then we would like to hear from you too.
